Traditional Start Position.
Partners stand facing
each other at a small angle,
in typical "Slow Dance"
position - stance.
Only seven (7) steps in the Starting Sequence,
with eight (8) steps in the Basic Step Sequence.

At the END of step 7 in the starting sequence, the HANDS change position.
The males right hand is removed from the back of the female
and the females left hand is removed from males right shoulder.
Transition to Basic Steps Position - Stance

The Basic Position - Stance.
Partners stand facing in a staight line.
Male left hand out front about waist high,
with palm up, and fingers slightly curved.
Female right hand, palm down, with
fingers curved across males left hand fingers.
